Over the last few weeks, I've had the opportunity to learn how to use the website Diigo as an integrative tool for my Education Technology course. Diigo is a website that allows its users to bookmark and organize other webpages, as well as highlight and add sticky notes to the text. I think this is a great tool for personal and professional use because we are always coming across useful information on the internet that could be applied to situations in our lives. Diigo gives me the ability to save this information as I find it, and highlight or add important notes to look back on later. I also see the potential use of Diigo in a classroom setting as a way to save educational websites and share the information with other teachers!

Bloom's Taxonomy is a hierarchical model used to categorize cognitive skills into six levels of varying complexity. Teachers often utilize it in the classroom during lesson plans to enhance student learning. For example, a lesson plan about Powerpoint would begin at the first two levels of the Bloom's Taxonomy model at "Knowledge" and "Comprehension". The teacher would ask their students to define what a Powerpoint is and why it is used. The next level of the model is "Application" where the teacher would ask the students to apply or demonstrate the use of Powerpoint in various ways. The fourth level of the model is "Analysis" where the students would be asked to compare and contrast what they have learned about Powerpoint. The fifth level is "Synthesis" which is where the students would be asked to hypothesis or create new information from what they have learned. The final level of Bloom's Taxonomy is "Evaluation" where the students would consider and evaluate personal values to what they have learned about the use of Powerpoint.

Technology is becoming increasingly popular in the classroom environments as teachers are gaining more access to new technology and trends. I did some research and came across an amazing website called "The EdTech Roundup" that shares frequent posts and reviews about new educational technology trends in Education! The website also provides its users with hundreds of lesson plans that demonstrate how to use and integrate the technology tools into your classroom. I would definitely utilize this tool as a teacher because it gives you all the information you need about how to use the technology in the classroom, as well as keeping you constantly updated with the newest trends!
