This week I had the wonderful experience of creating my very first website using a software called "Education Weebly". This web creator software made it very simple and easy to design my first webpage. I started with a basic blank template and then using the tool bar, was able to add photos, texts, and other features to the website. The most difficult aspect of creating the page was embedding the Google calendar into my website- but I was eventually able to figure it out with the help of the Internet! Overall I believe I think I was successful in the creation of my first website, but hope to expand my knowledge and learn how to add new features to my future websites. Learning how to design my first website was a very important skill to master because it will prove to be useful for many different career opportunities. For this assignment I created a website that a teacher would use to communicate with her students and parents- but there are hundreds of other jobs that also require the knowledge of web design!

Twitter is an online social networking app that allows its users to interact through messages or "tweets". I have been able to explore the many uses of Twitter through my Educational Technology class this semester! I've mostly used Twitter to share interesting articles related to education, or to view other classmates posts! I've also learned how to use Twitter as a means of communication between my other classmates such as to share ideas and talk further about class discussions. Thankfully, I have not run into any issues while using Twitter so far and hope to continue exploring the many benefits of Twitter in the upcoming weeks!

Assistive and adaptive technologies are often utilized in a classroom to help students with learning and attention issues. One example would be a text-to-speech assistive tool, or TTS. The software works by scanning over a text and then reading the words out loud in a synthesized voice so the student can clearly understand. The TTS technology is mostly designed for students with reading disabilities such as dyslexia or any type of visual impairment. I personally have not experienced the use of any of these assistive technologies first hand, but can definitely see their advantages. As a future educator, I believe these assistive technologies will be beneficial in enhancing student learning- however the only challenge I predict would be finding a balance between educational learning and technology-based learning.
